the doe deciding

the doe deciding
whether to cross the roadway
thinks better of it

ailing white sun

the ailing white sun
imprisoned by winter clouds
drained of its vigor

the wound

the sharp white steeple
piercing a dark cloud above
snow pours from the wound

only apathy

this dull rain evokes
no sadness in me today
only apathy

the old black woman

the old black woman
fist aimed at the old black sky
rebuking the storm

cotton candy

tufts, puffs of pink clouds
caught up in the tree branches
like cotton candy
